Steve Speirs (born 22nd February, 1965) is a Welsh actor and writer. He has appeared in many roles, including; Mr. Gareth Barber in the BBC One sitcom Big School, PC McClintock in the Christmas TV Film, Gangsta Granny, Dad in the Boy in the Dress, Ray in Miranda, Don in Bad Education (Movie), PC Strickland/Sip Fel Fotch Passameer-Day Slitheen in Doctor Who and Captain Tarpals in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace.

In Stella, Steve Speirs takes a main role as Big Alan Williams. He has appeared in all but one series of the show. He is also a frequent writer for the show and has worked closely with Ruth Jones.

Within Stella, Speirs takes a main role in the comedy drama series. Speirs is also a frequent writer for all of the series, working alongside Ruth Jones, Rob Evans, Ben Edwards and Simon Ludders. Speirs has appeared in all but one series of the show - season five marking his only absence from the series.
